Past Events

 

On May 1, 2010, the Chorale presented "Crossing the Bar" featuring the Brahms German Requiem, under the direction of Dr. Henry Chen. Soloists Robert Cantrell and Lori Hultgren joined
the Chorale, guest instrumentalists and choristers from St. James Episcopal of Monkton in an evening of glorious music.


On December 12, 2009, the Chorale presented Vivaldi's Gloria and a selection of holiday music in celebration of the season. The Chorale sponsored a silent auction during the concert to benefit alto Jackie McCosh (see event "Jackie's Benefit"), who suffered a severe spinal cord injury in May 2009.



At the invitation of the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra,

the Deer Creek Chorale returned to Carnegie Hall in October

2009 to perform Stabat Mater, participating in Jan Sporek's

20th Anniversary of Artistic Work in the USA.


Singers from the Deer Creek Chorale performed with other

area choral groups and the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra

at Bel Air High School, in the pre-Carnegie Hall concert

In Memory of Raymond Dombrowski.


The Baltimore Choral Arts Society joined the Chorale in a
tribute to Franz Joseph Haydn conducted by Tom Hall.
This concert was sponsored in part by the Harford County
Cultural Arts Board and St. James Episcopal Church.


Composer Randall Stroope conducted the Chorale and North
Harford choirs in a benefit
inspired by award winning book Three Cups of Tea.  This benefit raised over $25,000 to donate to the Central Asia Institute's school building fund!


The Chorale and the North Harford A Cappella Choir performed Handel's Messiah under the direction of Dr. Karen Kennedy of Towson University.

Members of the Deer Creek Chorale participated in
the "Performing in Harmony-With Olympic Spirit" choral tour
of China celebrating the 2008 summer Olympics.  



A chamber chorus from the Chorale participated in
World  Aids Day with the Maryland AIDS Administration.
The group performed performed prior to the moving
Reading of Names, and Candle Light Circle. 



Deer Creek Chorale members combined voices with
several top choral groups from across America at Carnegie
Hall. Conductor Drew Collins conducted Schubert's "Mass in
G Major" for this special event.
